Dermaplaning is a quick and painless procedure that involves using a surgical scalpel to exfoliate and remove dead skin cells and vellus hair (better known as "peach fuzz"). The scalpel is NOT used to cut into the skin, but instead is placed at a 45 degree angle on the skin and is brushed back and forth over the surface of your face. The process of removing dead skin cells and the top layer of your epidermis is to stimulate deeper layers of your skin, causing your skin to produce more collagen, increase skin tightness, and improve skin texture.
